Cattail Organics
Farm Tours
Cattail Organics is hosting farm tours Friday October 9th at 5pm and Saturday October 10th at 11am. You will explore Cattail Organics fall fields, learning about organic, regenerative and conservation practices including cover crops and beneficial insect habitats, see production in the field, and view one acre of hoophouses the farm uses to extend the short growing season. Cattails will touch on ways they connect to the community through their CSA program, farm to schools and farm to food pantry efforts, and will give a broad overview of the diverse agriculture in Western Marathon County. Tours are open to all ages but will require around 1/4 mile of walking on gravel paths and uneven grass walk ways. Cattails will have a tasting area with their farm's famous "candy carrots." They are asking $10/family or individual donation for the tour, which will go to Athens Caring Circle's Food Pantry, which serves the region with fresh healthy food for those who need it most. A QR code to scan and an option for cash or check will be available.
Tours: Fri. 10/9 @ 5 PM, Sat. 10/10 @ 11 AM
